WHY CHOOSE US? 

Situated on the west coast of Scotland SAMS has diverse and spectacular temperate marine environments on its doorstep. From muddy and rocky shores, sandy beaches and salt marshes, to sea lochs, islands, MPAs and deep waters, the area is home to marine mammals, basking sharks and biogenic reefs.

SAMS is housed in a modern and very well-equipped laboratory. Our 150+ staff have very broad expertise and operate in a spirit of international collaboration.
