32nd ESCPB Conference (European Society for Comparative Physiology and Biochemistry)

The 32nd ESCPB Congress, to be held by Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn at the Darwin Dohrn Museum (Naples, Italy), between the 28th and the 31st of August 2022.

This edition of the conference will focus on a main theme: ‘Comparative physiology and biochemistry in the Anthropocene: understanding the
physiological and biochemical complexity of a changing world’. The conference will provide an ideal platform to present, discuss and
implement state-of-art ideas and approaches in Comparative Physiology and Biochemistry, while anticipating future directions. An attractive
scientific program encompassing various different scientific sessions will be developed over 4 days.

For the first time, the conference will take place in hybrid mode, with the possibility of attending both in person and remotely. Only for undergraduate students (BSc and MSc) who participate remotely there will be a special fee of 30 euros each for the entire conference.

We are thus confident that ESCPB 2022 will represent an unforgettable professional and personal experience for all participants, also
providing a good networking for their scientific careers. Following the tradition of the ESCPB meetings, several young investigator awards (YIA) will be made available thanks to the involved sponsors.

The conference will cover a broad range of themes included into these 4 PLENARY SESSIONS:

1.      Physiological and Biochemical effects of Nanomaterials and Microplastic: a comparative overview from molecules to ecosystems
(Confirmed keynote speaker: Prof. Ceri Lewis; Exeter University)

2.      Physiological and Biochemical effects of Environmental Chemicals: a comparative overview from molecules to ecosystems
(Confirmed keynote speaker: Prof. Christian Sonne; Aarhus University)

3.      Adapting to a changing world: evolutionary approaches to ecophysiology         (Keynote speaker to be confirmed)

4.      Ecophysiology and Aquaculture: finding the balance between yield and sustainability         (Confirmed keynote speaker: Prof. Grant Stentiford; Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science - CEFAS)
